Area home sales rise in February, bucking national trend

The number of home sales in Virginia — including central Virginia — continues to rise, despite a decline at the national level. A total of 833 single-family homes and condos or town houses sold in the Richmond area in February, up 10.2 percent from the same month a year ago, according to the Richmond Association of Realtors. The area is made up of Richmond and Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico counties.
The median sales price here, with half the houses selling for more and half for less, was $208,700 in February, up 0.94 percent from a year ago.  Read full story from The Richmond Times Dispatch.
